We open with a backstage segment in a surprising fashion.
As we focus to see what is going on, we see two men brawling in the back. It's Ricky Riddle, and he is brawling with the Terminator.
Objects are flying everywhere as the two are trading punches. But it looks as though the Terminator has the upper hand...
NWC SUPERSTAR:
Hello and welcome to a special mini-edition of Night Of The Champions. And the Terminator has just sneak attacked Ricky Riddle right before we went on the air.
Apparently, Terminator is upset over the loss he and World champion Chris Williams had by the hands of Riddle and The Extreme Vampyr.
The Terminator stops the beating he delivers to Riddle. Riddle is laying down on the floor. He is not moving.
A number of medical technicians rush to Riddle's aide. Riddle has been knocked unconscious.
NWC SUPERSTAR:
Terminator just destroyed Ricky Riddle here tonight. And Riddle has to compete tonight in the finals of the World tag team tournament. Where's Riddle's partner, the Extreme Vampyr? And is Riddle going to be able to compete in his match tonight?
That match is scheduled for tonight. And...wait a minute...
We cut to the arena, where the stage lights up and classic rock music plays. We see NWC Commissioner Paul Bunion coming out of the back and heading to the ring.
NWC SUPERSTAR:
It's Commissioner Paul Bunion. And he is supposed to make two huge announcements here tonight.
He will announce the challenger for Chris William's World championship at NWC's Hell Night. He is also going to announce the special stipulation for that match. And there has been rumors flying around all week about who will face William's and what that stipulation could be.
Well, even though tonight is a mini-episode, we still will get some action. Because our only match will be the tag team tournament finals.
But, as we've just seen, can Ricky Riddle compete after that horrific beating he just took? We have yet to find out what is going on backstage. But right now we must focus on Commissioner Bunion.
Bunion enters the ring and is handed a microphone. He is now ready to make the announcements.
PAUL BUNION:
Before I get to the major announcements, let me make a statement about what I've just seen. That was a very unprofessional action that you, Terminator, just displayed. For that I am ordering you to be escorted out of the arena.
Bunion pauses for a second to clear his throat and straighten his suit. He continues.
PB:
And I know that Riddle might not be able to compete after that attack. And I can't get another partner for the Extreme Vampyr at this moment. So therefore, Extrme Vampyr must compete for the Tag team titles by himself or he must forfeit the match.
If he forfeits, then the new Tag team champions will be Art Barker and Mark Richman via forfeit.
But I'l let him decide that later. Now for the announcement of Chris Williams challenger at Hell Night for the World heavy-weight championship.
I have made a very clear decision. Because of his problems with Williams the past few weeks, and the fact that he was screwed out of the title two weeks ago. I am awarding the title match to the Extreme Vampyr.
The crowd roars in excitement. They like the decision.
NWC SUPERSTAR:
Wow, what a decision. It obviously was the right one according to this Fresno audience. The Extreme Vampyr will get the main event match. He has been very hot at the Dark Alliance as we entered the early stages of the rapidly improving NWC.
PB:
But because of the circumstances of their last encounter, this match cannot be just any old title match, no.
Bunion throws down his notebook and papers as he fills with emotion. He then looks into the camera, and in a slightly deeper tone...
PB:
This match will be held inside a man built, 4,000 pound, rusty steeled, cell. It will be a HELL ON EARTH MATCH!!!
The crowd goes completely nuts. The sound of their applause quickly fills the 25,000 seat Selland Arena.
NWC SUPERSTAR:
It sounds to me that fans love that major announcement by Commissioner Bunion. The Extreme Vampyr will challenge The Icon Chris Williams inside of a 2 ton steel structure. So far in the NWC we haven't even seen a regular steel cage match.
But on May 27th, two weeks from this weekend, those two will battle in a Hell On Earth Match. What the hell is this thing going to look like? And it's going to be for the NWC World championship, folks. This could be one of the most violent, bloody matches we will ever see in the NWC.
PB:
Now with that being said, let's get to our main attraction.
Bunion tosses the microphone out of the ring to a ringside attendant, and quickly exits the ring and walks straight to the back. He never looks back.
The ring bell sounds and the NWC ring announcer step into place for the introduction of the only match of the night.
NWC RING ANNOUNCER:
This tag team match is scheduled for one fall and is the finals of the NWC tag team championship tournament!
The entrance music of goth rock plays and the lights in the arena darkens and blends with a dark shade or red. The fans roar and await the new #1 contender for the World title.
NRA:
First, heading down the aisle,,,weighing in at 231pounds, from Hell and back...The Extreme Vampyr!!!
The ring announcer leaves the ring as the Extreme Vampyr walks firmly towards the squared circle. And then he will enter the ring.
NWCS:
Here we go. it's our only match on this mini edition of Night Of The Champions. And look who comes out first. It 's the man who was just named the challenger for the NWC World championship at Hell Night in a Hell On Earth Match. And he happens to hail from Hell and back.
And hes about to go back home, but he's bringing a special guest. Chris Williams. The anticipation of this just skyrocketed to the top level.
What must the Icon be thinking right now? I don't believe he is here tonight. But wherever he is , he's got to be concerned about this match now.
But right here tonight, can the Extreme Vampyr win the NWC Tag team championship by himself? We'll find out after this commercial break.
And Vampyr catches Richman with a german suplex. And he goes for another. He goes for a third but Richman blocks and goes behind Vampyr. Richman goes for a german suplex but Vampyr blocks him. Vampyr reverses, goes behind Richman and finally hits the third german suplex.
